Beth Sholom Village Grant Program

Strengthening Senior Care Across Hampton Roads/Tidewater

Beth Sholom Village is proud to launch the Beth Sholom Village Grant Program, a new grantmaking initiative designed to support nonprofit organizations serving seniors throughout the Hampton Roads/Tidewater region.

Guided by Jewish values and a deep commitment to dignity, compassion, and tikkun olam, the Jewish call to repair the world through collective responsibility, this program reflects Beth Sholom Village’s long-standing mission to care for and uplift older adults in our community.

Through this grant program, Beth Sholom Village invests in organizations that advance the well-being, independence, and quality of life of seniors, recognizing both the immediate needs facing older adults today and the innovative solutions required for the future.

Our Purpose

The Beth Sholom Village Grant Program exists to strengthen services and programs that support seniors, particularly those who are vulnerable, underserved, or facing complex challenges.

Grants may support:

  • Essential services that help seniors remain safe, healthy, and connected
  • Programs addressing food insecurity, housing stability, transportation, and indigent care
  • Mental health and wellness initiatives for older adults
  • Innovative or pilot programs that respond to emerging needs in senior care
  • Community-based programs that promote social connection, education, cultural engagement, and dignity in aging

While rooted in the Jewish community, the grant program supports organizations serving seniors across the broader Hampton Roads/Tidewater region.

Our Mission & Values

Beth Sholom Village has served older adults in our region for decades, grounded in the belief that every senior deserves to age with dignity, respect, and purpose.

Our grantmaking is guided by:

  • Tikkun Olam: Repairing the world through partnership, service, and shared responsibility
  • Dignity: Honoring the inherent worth of every individual
  • Compassion: Responding to need with care and humanity
  • Community Responsibility: Supporting organizations that strengthen the safety net for seniors

This grant program extends Beth Sholom Village’s mission of supporting the broader network of organizations that care for seniors throughout our region.
