Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Beth Sholom Village Journey.
For more than forty years, Beth Sholom Village has served our community with a commitment to dignity, compassion, and Jewish values. While our mission has evolved over time, our purpose remains unchanged: to enhance the lives of older adults and strengthen the community we call home.
Over the past year, Beth Sholom Village has embarked on one of the most significant transformations in our history. Through thoughtful planning, dedicated leadership, and the support of our community partners, we have transitioned into a grant-making organization focused on supporting programs and services that improve the lives of seniors throughout Hampton Roads.
This year marked a historic milestone as we launched our inaugural community grant program. Organizations serving older adults submitted innovative proposals, and our Grants Committee worked diligently to identify projects that align with our mission and values. We are proud that these grants will help extend our impact far beyond our own walls and into the broader community.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our Board of Directors, committee members, partners, donors, and supporters. Together, we are building a legacy that honors our past while embracing new opportunities to serve future generations.
Through this publication, we hope to share stories of the people, organizations, and initiatives that make our work meaningful. We will highlight grant recipients, community partnerships, volunteer efforts, resident experiences, and the many ways Jewish values continue to guide our mission.
